"We don't know what we don't know, so if you don't tell us, how would you expect change if we don't know that there's something that needs to be changed"
I think it's been really great for employees to have an outlet to make suggestions. I always say to people when I'm responding either via comment or private message, we don't know what we don't know, so if you don't tell us, how would you expect change if we don't know that there's something that needs to be changed? So we've gotten a lot of great ideas. In fact, aCheck, which is our return training program for new employees, came from a suggestion on TINYpulse where they said we need employees to have more training, and then from our new employees, that onboarding or new employee orientation, that first week was so overwhelming.
We'd get them for five days at our headquarters to go through training, and we're trying to cram as much into those five days as possible. It's a lot, and it's overwhelming. So to give them a chance to take what they've learned, go work at their workstation with their teams, and then come back, they are more receptive and ready to absorb the information than us continuing trying to pile it on during that first week.
