I'm redesigning this newsletter - wrote on that last week. One piece of feedback I got is that people were often spoiled for choice in the previous format. To combat that, I'm going to put the most critical link right at the top every week.

That excellent writeup by Dana Wilkie at SHRM covers the results of a Harris Poll:

48 percent of those working have what researchers call "layoff anxiety." 

That's scary. One of our speakers at TINYcon last week was Renée Smith. She's spent a lot of time researching fear and love at work (turns out love is what takes the place of fear when it disappears from the workplace). I don't know if "layoff anxiety" translates exactly to fear, but it can't be a good thing.

Ever heard of "breadcrumbing"?

I'm a newsletter junkie. I use a product called Unroll.me to put the stuff I subscribe to into one email and read it at the end of the day. It's like dessert. 🍰

TINYpulse brings all sorts of fascinating stories to my inbox, and I want to make this newsletter its own unique thing. That said, I studied the greats, and if you like this newsletter you might enjoy my subscription list:

• Friday Forward by Robert Glazer, a brilliant author (who spoke at TINYcon 2018). These are ruminations that often influence the way I work that Friday.
• Good Work by Holloway, a really nice mix of personal and practical that I can click every link in.
• HR Dive, a thorough daily rundown of HR-related news. I get excited every time TINYpulse is mentioned in that one. (That's a referral link - if enough people sign up through that, I get a T-shirt.)
• Work Futures Daily by Stowe Boyd, a "work ecologist". This one's intense and cutting-edge and frequently critical of popular concepts. 

This newsletter - "Under Consideration" is a working title - will be something different than all of those, so I don't mind sharing!

Also, well, under consideration: changing the top image every week. This week it's someone trying on VR goggles from Pixvana at TINYcon. Have you used VR for employee training? I'd love to hear about your experience if so; you can just reply to this email.
