#firstsevenjobsIt all started last Thursday, when Alaskan songwriter Marian Call asked a simple question on Twitter while offering her own answer:

The idea was that you might learn something about someone by the first jobs they held. Weve all had a few embarrassing ways of generating an income, right? (Not that our current jobs are anything to be embarrassed about.)

For some internet reason — which means, roughly translated, “who knows?” — the hashtag #firstsevenjobs took off the following weekend on Twitter, with the famous and infamous fessing up about their past, including people like astronaut Buzz Aldrin, actress Mira Sorvino, and playwright Lin-Manual Miranda. Here are seven other famous people revealing their early employment history.

Ellen DeGeneres

James Gunn (Screenwriter, Guardians of the Galaxy)

Constance Wu (Fresh Off the Boat

Stephen Colbert

Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn-Nine Nine)

Mo Rocca

Savannah Guthrie (The Today Show)

It’s fun to see where these stars started. You can add your seven on Twitter using the hashtag #firstsevenjobs then tag us @TINYpulse. And then have some fun seeing what other occupations others have suffered en route to their current and presumably happy station in life.
