The Five Days of the Workweek, According to Memes

Have you noticed it seems like every weekday — that is, every workday for most of us — has its own personality? The Internet certainly has, and there are countless memes that document our slog through the workweek. Here are some of our favorites. For good measure, we'll throw in what that same Internet thinks each day's name means. 

Monday

Or "Moon's Day." Simple: It follows the day of the sun.

Tuesday

Or "Tiu's Day," Tiu is the Old English/German god of war and the sky, so keep your head down.

Wednesday

Or "Woden's Day." Woden is the main Anglo-Saxon/Teutonic god whose name translates as "insane leader." Comforting.

 
Thursday

Or "Thor's Day." We all know Thor is not just part of the Marvel universe, right?

Friday

Or "Freya's Day." Freya is the Teutonic goddess of love, beauty, and fertility, not paydays.
