Mind Vacation: Stunning Photographs of Our Galaxy

by Robby Berman on Aug 26, 2015 8:00:00 AM

The Mind Vacation series provides a little break from work, a quick trip someplace different you can return from feeling refreshed.

Photographer David Lane has worked out a process for capturing absolutely stunning, haunting photos of the night sky. By increasing a photo’s saturation level to make up for ever-present atmospheric light and by combining different shots, he creates the most awesome starscapes.

For our eyes, no such stratagems are necessary.

Lane says, “Get away from the light, drive out 20-30 miles out of town, and look up on a clear dark night, and you may see something that will forever change your life. This is what a galaxy looks like from the inside.”
