You’re probably wondering how we measure workplace happiness ...
Once a month, we ask employees at over 500 companies around the world how happy they are at work. We separated each company into 14 different industries then calculated the average happiness score for each organization.
For this award, we analyzed the results by calculating the average happiness score for each company in the different industries to find out winners.

Q: What was the funniest recognition you’ve ever received?
Q: What was the happiest moment at work?
A: Sailing in Croatia last June with the team was certainly a happy moment!
On a serious note, our happiest moments are always when we receive great positive feedback from clients (which is thankfully often). The nature of working in IT means clients rightly get in touch when something isn’t quite right, so to hear that our clients are impressed with the service they receive, is what we thrive on.
Q: What kind of fun activities does your company participate in?
A: Activities range from participating in the Great City 5k Race, the Grim Challenge, to pool and bowling tournaments, not to forget regular outings to local pubs!
The sporting activities can get very competitive (no surprise there!) but, above all, they are in good fun and a good excuse to get together outside of the office. And as mentioned, I guess we are quite unique in that we take the whole company sailing in Croatia every other year — which is great for team bonding!
Q: What is the one thing that every company can do to make their employees happier?
A: Give them recognition. It’s so important to reward staff for their effort and hard work. We hold training and update days on the first Friday of every month, where we reward the person who has received the most Cheers that month. Again, it gets quite competitive but promotes a great supportive working culture.
Q: If you could describe your work culture in three words, what would they be?
