Once a month, we ask employees at over 500 companies around the world how happy they are at work. We separated each company into 14 different industries then calculated the average happiness score for each organization.
For this award, we analyzed the results by calculating the average happiness score for each company in the different industries to find out winners.

We got a chance to speak with the team to go behind the scenes of the organization to find out what makes Dean's Professional Plumbing one of the best places to work. Let's see what they have to say.
A: For my birthday last year, my coworkers decorated my desk with a JAWS theme (I love sharks!), and they even had a blow up shark inside!
We also had a contest throughout the company and had one technician, one office staff, and one manager win a day out at a Twins Game! We were paid for regular hours and got to ride in a limo to the game. The day included food, drinks, and tickets. It was a blast and a great way for people from all the departments to relax and spend time together.
A: Every month we have a company game that we play. All of our technicians and office staff get together for an hour in the morning to play a game like life-size Hungry Hungry Hippos, charades, Minute to Win it, Family Feud, and more!
We also do charity and giving-back events together as a team. For example, we all participate in Holiday Wish each year, by giving gifts and fulfilling needs for families in need in our area. We have our customers nominate families that they know who are in need, and we have our entire team show up at their door to surprise them with gifts! It’s a great way to bring us all together every holiday season, and the employees at our company love it!
Dean’s also has two annual company parties, and they are always a blast! We have one party in the winter (our holiday party) and one in the summer (employee appreciation). We have done events such as: murder mystery dinners, unlimited bowling and pizza, dinner boat cruises, and more. These parties are a great way for our team to come together and have fun outside of the office.
We celebrate birthdays and anniversaries by ordering lunch for the office staff, bonuses for anniversaries, decorating work spaces, and having the entire team sign a card for them.
