About Bright Pink NFP
Bright Pink is the only national non-profit organization that's focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in women between the ages of 18 and 45. Their workforce is extremely driven towards fun and employee engagement.
We got a chance to speak with the team to go behind the scenes of the organization to find out what makes Bright Pink one of the best places to work. Let's see what they had to say.
Q: What was the funniest recognition you’ve ever received?
Q: What was the happiest moment at work?
A: In 2015, we set a goal to have 70,000 women complete our online breast and ovarian cancer risk assessment quiz at AssessYourRisk.org. About halfway through the year, we realized that we were going to surpass this goal. But the day we reached 100,000 completions was unforgettable.
At Bright Pink, we love nothing more than a woman empowered to be proactive with her health. To see our team rally together to make that possible for over 100,000 women nationwide was simply incredible.
Q: What kind of fun activities does your company participate in?
A: Once a month we have Wellness Hour where we unplug from our work and take on a fun activity as a team. We’ve done everything from rock climbing to themed potlucks to yoga and more.
One month, we rearranged the office, brought out yoga mats, and had our Chief Program Officer take us through a guided meditation. These activities bond us as a team and are the perfect way to unwind.
Q: What is the one thing that every company can do to make their employees happier?
A: Creating a healthy work environment is key. At Bright Pink, we love a good walking meeting (when it’s not the dead of Chicago winter!) and make a point of putting our treadmill desk to good use. We also have healthy snacks on hand at all times.
At the end of the day, a healthier environment means a happier staff. Plus we’re a health organization so we like to practice what we preach!
