The results are in, Big Pink is the winner of two TINYpulse awards: the Raising the Bar Award and Employee Recognition Award in the Pharma & Biotech industry.

To give you some background, the Raising the Bar Award is for companies who improved their happiness scores over a period of six months. And the Employee Recognition Award highlights companies that have sent the most recognition throughout the entire company.
But let's rewind — you’re probably wondering how we measure workplace happiness ...
Once a month, we ask employees at over 500 companies around the world how happy they are at work. We separated each company into 14 different industries then calculated the average happiness score for each organization.
For this award, we analyzed the results by calculating the average happiness score for each company in the different industries to find out winners.
About Big Pink

Big Pink was born in 1992 in the UK by Simon Wilson and Wayne Page. They deliver everything from business strategies to apps to SEO marketing mainly for the healthcare industry — all with a creative edge. And for them, it's the small things that drive their employee engagement.
We got a chance to speak with the team to go behind the scenes of the organization to find out what makes Big Pink one of the best places to work.
Q: What is the funniest recognition you’ve ever received?
A: Here’s a few of our funniest Cheers for Peers.
- “Amazing work for the Monday dancing!”
- “Congratulations for being the best fudge slapper!” (We took our accounts team to a fudge-making session)
- “For sticking with a demanding project … when common sense would have told anyone else to leave it”

Q: What was the happiest moment at work?
A: We make the most out of every seasonal milestone by getting creative in the office. Last Halloween, we made a dummy of our director and hung him from the ceiling without a head.
On a more serious note, our first BED event (Better Experience of Digital) was a huge hit! We transformed our entire office into a digital showcase and every member of staff got involved.
Q: What kind of fun activities does your company participate in?
A:
Q: What is the one thing that every company can do to make their employees happier?
A: Everyone can agree that happier employees occur in an environment where they feel important. Giving everyone a voice is not as tricky as you may think — TINYpulse is a great platform that supports that — but we keep it active in our culture through a multitude of ways.
For example, Beer O’clock, where we meet collectively every Friday over a drink to discuss the week or changing the seating plan every few months to really keep things interesting. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution here, and we can appreciate that not every company can manage a duck-duck-goose shuffle. But believe it or not, it’s the little things that make a big difference. Our cupboards are packed with snacks and healthy fruit bowls line our breakfast bar — this doesn’t cost much but gives a lot.
The bottom line is you must trial and error different approaches to keep those smiles up. So ask your staff, "What one change can we make to keep us all happier?"

Q: If you could describe your work culture in 3 words, what would they be?
A: As our ethos goes, “Make Everything Better”
