More than just an employee survey
TINYpulse discovers how your employees are feeling, and performing
Most of my career was spent managing stores with a national retailer, where there was a huge focus on standardization and consistency. As a manager, you had to think in big numbers — how do you keep 2,000 or 20,000 employees motivated and still maintain consistency and equality. The answer tended toward managing in a very structured organizational culture where it was more important to follow the rules than look at the needs of the individual.
Employee engagement is hard to pin down. Is it paying employees over market rate? Is it having a Ping-Pong table in the office? Or is it providing free food to your employees? Take the quiz and see how good you are at recognizing factors that impact engagement and alignment.
Most of my career was spent in management at a big national retailer. I have managed hundreds of people directly and thousands in a regional position. So when I changed careers and became the human resources director at a smaller company (under 50 people), I had to figure out what I could take from a big, structured organization to help a much smaller team build an engaged culture.
Our company, Brenthaven started using TINYpulse over a year ago because we wanted a way to hear what employees were concerned about and their thoughts on how to make our company a better place to work. We loved the frequency of the questions and that we would could segment the results between our US office and our overseas office.
